Spectators: 7992 (Terracing: 5995, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Berke Sobezak made the kick off which started today's match. Everett Houldsworth came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Collingwood's Berke Sobezak. But to his dismay, Berke Sobezak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodd Buckland got free with Everett Houldsworth in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Berke Curtis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Didlick, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Brian Didlick took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Berke Curtis. Berke Curtis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Collingwood's goalkeeper Berke Curtis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Berke Curtis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kent Cassilly went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Gillingwater during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Berke Curtis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Didlick in the 33rd minute of the match. Beachton's Everett Houldsworth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Beachton from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the match, Collingwood's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Didlick came free, but Berke Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Beachton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Franklin to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the game, Beachton's Brian Didlick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berke Curtis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 46th match minute, Beachton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norm Hodgson to maneuver through the defense. Berkeley Nurthen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Everett Houldsworth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Beachton were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Didlick was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Berke Sobezak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Collingwood getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Bill Bacon hit a great ball. Berkeley Nurthen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Berke Curtis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norm Hodgson in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Collingwood's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Didlick came free, but Berke Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodd Buckland struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Everett Houldsworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Collingwood. In the 81st minute Berke Sobezak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Houldsworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Beachton's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Randolph Howie was slow to take the kick. During this time Collingwood's players had a chance to rest. At last the ball reached Andres Riley at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Beachton. 2-4. Berkeley Nurthen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Everett Houldsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute Brian Didlick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berke Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Beachton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
