The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mark Butterfield stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Byron Ziliotto's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Bernie Staworowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cod Mcgaw having to interfere. Cod Mcgaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ed Hardiman in the 19th minute of the match. Gondwana Baryonyx's Cod Mcgaw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernie Staworowski in the 22nd minute of play. Sydney Eagles's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Byron Ziliotto 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Rusty Howarth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sydney Eagles's supporters rose to their feet, but Rusty Howarth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cod Mcgaw breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ed Hardiman scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cod Mcgaw, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney Eagles's goalkeeper Mark Butterfield, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Byron Ziliotto made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Ed Hardiman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cod Mcgaw made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Bernie Staworowski sent off a good shot on target. Byron Ziliotto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Mark Butterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Byron Ziliotto fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gondwana Baryonyx's protests and gave Byron Ziliotto a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gondwana Baryonyx's Byron Ziliotto got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ed Hardiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cod Mcgaw having to interfere. Antonio Maslin took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mark Butterfield. Mark Butterfield dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Bernie Staworowski took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cod Mcgaw. Cod Mcgaw dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 87 minutes into the game, Sydney Eagles's Rusty Howarth nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cod Mcgaw made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. After 94 played minutes Gondwana Baryonyx got a freekick which was hit by Fletcher Reynolds. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
