Jarrod Macumber hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the game, George Hodge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Convicts's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Nations Best the free kick. After a rather tough play, Convicts's George Hodge got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Michael Reichelt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Convicts's Elliott Baxter didn't even have to move. After 19 played minutes Convicts got a freekick which was hit by George Hodge. 23 minutes into the match, The Nations Best's Nick Guy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elliott Baxter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marshal Samuels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Elliott Baxter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mack Grigson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Stageman in the 36th minute of play. Archie Moran hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Mack Grigson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Andre Hitchen. In the 41st minute Duncan Stageman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mack Grigson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Duncan Stageman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elliott Baxter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Guy in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Duncan Stageman to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes The Nations Best got a freekick which was hit by Loud Morse. Andre Hitchen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mack Grigson. The Nations Best's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Convicts's zone, Marshal Samuels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Baxter came out of the goal and Marshal Samuels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barnabas Hayman took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mack Grigson. Mack Grigson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Mack Grigson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duncan Stageman in the 74th minute of the match. The Nations Best's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
