After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Russel Andrusiow managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altona Meadows's supporters rose to their feet, but Russel Andrusiow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chuck Collings breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Altona Meadows's Russel Andrusiow slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chuck Collings. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. A collision led to Geelong FC 1864 getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Edison Sobezak hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Navarro Waters managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chuck Collings took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berke Mcmillan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chuck Collings made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berke Mcmillan in the 62nd minute of play.
