In the 23rd minute, Eavan Fitzpatrick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donovan Batterham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darren Everett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute, Darren Everett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donovan Batterham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Everett in the 54th minute of play. If Baxter Todman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Dacosta Franklin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kent Rheistein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Wongamine's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Belford came free, but Nash Watts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Wongamine booed when Green Sheep was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carver Schultz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Rheistein in the 79th minute of play forced Wongamine's goalkeeper Nash Watts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
