The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jeffers Coldicutt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jemmett Jeffress showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cullen Millgate in the 9th minute of the match. Kale Burton hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Ozzie Block struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Jemmett Jeffress didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hunter Valley FC. Jemmett Jeffress acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Loud Chapman. Hunter Valley FC's Arne Reiter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffers Coldicutt in the 25th minute of play. If Matthews Gracey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cullen Millgate fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jemmett Jeffress having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Bill Angell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arne Reiter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffers Coldicutt, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Hunter Valley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matthews Gracey came free, but Arne Reiter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Burtt Oconnell hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Soccer Club 2020's zone, Loud Chapman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jemmett Jeffress came out of the goal and Loud Chapman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hunter Valley FC's Arne Reiter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthews Gracey in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cullen Millgate to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Matthews Gracey fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arne Reiter, passed just outside the right post. When Matthews Gracey came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Soccer Club 2020 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthews Gracey couldn't finish the play. Ozzie Block sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hunter Valley FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Matthews Gracey 72 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. 78 minutes into the match, Soccer Club 2020's Jeffers Coldicutt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arne Reiter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeffers Coldicutt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soccer Club 2020's goalkeeper Jemmett Jeffress, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Soccer Club 2020 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
