Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damon Blackham started the match with the kick off. If Damon Blackham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kalkee's Jeffray Hess got a free kick in the 13th minute. Jacobs Barker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niles Malacarne having to interfere. If Jacobs Barker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobs Barker struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Niles Malacarne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kalkee. Darin Norton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everett Wege having to interfere. If Darin Norton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Sam Limmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sam Limmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niles Malacarne having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Kalkee's Damon Blackham nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Niles Malacarne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darin Norton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jacobs Barker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 minutes, Bartholemew Muncaster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mayfield and the Kalkee players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kalkee booed when Mayfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartholemew Muncaster didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre Oconnell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Everett Wege tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 63 minutes, Jacobs Barker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalkee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobs Barker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Kalkee's Damon Blackham slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Niles Malacarne. That made the score 0-2 after 63 minutes of play. Damon Blackham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Kalkee getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Bryant Ziliotto hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes Mayfield got a freekick which was hit by Remington Weatherby. Dan Hodson, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Niles Malacarne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacobs Barker in the 81st minute. A nice corner shot did that Dan Hodson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Niles Malacarne quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 84 minutes of play Mayfield's Bartholemew Muncaster was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Bartholemew Muncaster kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Jacobs Barker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Niles Malacarne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damon Blackham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mayfield fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kalkee were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
