The audience thought a goal was coming when Corbett Howie got free with Allen Cave in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Joachim Wiking TSS booed when Medina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Kuskoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Corbett Howie came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Joachim Wiking TSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corbett Howie couldn't finish the play. After 22 minutes, Bickford Gilding mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medina and the Joachim Wiking TSS players grew even worse after the yellow card.
