Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1250, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Damon Peplow kicked off to start the match. In the 4th match minute, Gold Coast FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barnett Lenard to maneuver through the defense. Murphey Mcroberts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keefe Reichelt, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Randall Freel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damon Peplow, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Gold Coast FC's Murphey Mcroberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichol Notley in the 11th minute of play. If Damon Peplow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, one of Arsenal Academy:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arsenal Academy. Damian Dowsing shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Olin Warhurst kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Gold Coast FC's Edmund Hodson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Randall Freel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Damon Peplow lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Randall Freel. Britton Tauschke kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 45 played minutes Damon Peplow rounded Arsenal Academy's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nichol Notley was the one to do the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Buchanan Quinn put in a rough tackle. After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gold Coast FC! In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Arsenal Academy. Kyle Heathwood stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Murphey Mcroberts. 3-1. After having played for 63 minutes, Edmund Hodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold Coast FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund Hodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arsenal Academy's Randall Freel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damon Peplow in the 73rd minute of play. If Edmund Hodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Dowsing blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Randall Freel having to make a save. Edmund Hodson struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Randall Freel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gold Coast FC. Damian Dowsing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmund Hodson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randall Freel having to interfere. Damon Peplow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Randall Freel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th match minute, Arsenal Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nichol Notley to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Arsenal Academy booed when Gold Coast FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Dowsing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gold Coast FC's Murphey Mcroberts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Gold Coast FC from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Edmund Hodson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Randall Freel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arsenal Academy's Olin Warhurst got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Olin Warhurst off the ground. When the referee ended the match the Gold Coast FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
