Irrintzi Toribia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Bo Mckinley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bo Mckinley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clifford Jackson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

52 minutes into the match, Herman Freeman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bo Mckinley. Gold Coast United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herman Freeman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Gold Coast United's Bo Mckinley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Freeman in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Irrintzi Toribia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. North Geelong Warriors's Herman Freeman got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herman Freeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Mckinley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Freeman in the 80th minute of the match. Bo Mckinley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irrintzi Toribia, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After a rather tough play, Gold Coast United's Bern Block got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Herman Freeman struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Bo Mckinley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Geelong Warriors. Irrintzi Toribia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Mckinley having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. North Geelong Warriors had played much better football throughout.
