The supporters of Crimson Eagles FC booed when Ermington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Mapps didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angus Mcjunkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jones Addison in the 9th minute of the match. David Odd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Lawrance Shorten made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Facey in the 31st minute of play forced Ermington FC's goalkeeper Angus Mcjunkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Odd succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Porter Simpson made the kick off in the second half. Porter Simpson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Angus Mcjunkins came out and tried to block the shot, but Porter Simpson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Crimson Eagles FC's Kevin Conlin got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute, Porter Simpson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Angus Mcjunkins. The goal made the score 2-3. Angus Mcjunkins was a little too slow when Porter Simpson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 2-4. When Gregg Willis came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ermington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregg Willis couldn't finish the play. Jarrett Cameron kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. David Odd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lawrance Shorten having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Biggs Obrien was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ermington FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crimson Eagles FC the free kick. Angus Mcjunkins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Porter Simpson went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. A collision led to Crimson Eagles FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Raleigh Mclatchey hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Odd during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Angus Mcjunkins was a little too slow when Porter Simpson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 2-6. Kevin Conlin's late challenge caught a Ermington FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Conlin helped the player get up and apologised. Crimson Eagles FC played a much better game than Ermington FC and deserved their victory. The Ermington FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
