Bradshaw Lander's late challenge caught a Brisbane FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradshaw Lander helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Tawonga getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Bradshaw Lander hit a great ball. Britton Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralph Mccartan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 6 minutes into the game, when Howie Shipp put in a rough tackle. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brisbane FC! The referee gave Tawonga a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bradshaw Lander, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brisbane FC's Britton Day. 0-1. Ralph Mccartan hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Brisbane FC's Fabrizio Chute got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Bower in the 24th minute of play forced Brisbane FC's goalkeeper Britton Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Britton Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Art Copelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Zack Millgate recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Brisbane FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bradshaw Lander came free, but Britton Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Burns Bennett in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loud Awage saved Tawonga from getting behind. Britton Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradshaw Lander went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Zack Millgate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Britton Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danny Bower in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Britton Day, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 71st minute, Bradshaw Lander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute of the game Danny Terris made a throw-in which Burns Bennett played forward. Zack Millgate blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Britton Day having to make a save. Bradshaw Lander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Britton Day came out and tried to block the shot, but Bradshaw Lander slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 82nd minute. Burns Bennett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
