In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tawonga's goalkeeper Loud Awage, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tawonga's Loud Awage proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Tawonga from getting a goal against them. After having played for 23 minutes, Ralph Mccartan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tawonga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralph Mccartan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elliott Kernick during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jamese Mewburn in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Loud Awage prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Tawonga booed when Mingoola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duffield Adair didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Duffield Adair in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Tawonga's Ralph Mccartan. Ralph Mccartan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tawonga walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
