Spectators: 7305 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1550, VIP seats: 155) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Best Cameron got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Balgos's Best Cameron sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kirby Loch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Best Cameron struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Kirby Loch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balgos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carl Grieve during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Balgos getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Carl Grieve hit a great ball. When Balgos's Larkin Connell in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maribyrnong FC's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Balgos's Ed Mccarthy got control of the ball when Berny Holdsworth tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Maribyrnong FC booed when Balgos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brett Kernick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maribyrnong FC's Kirby Loch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Best Cameron in the 19th minute of play. Kirby Loch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Best Cameron in the 20th minute of the match. Best Cameron might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kirby Loch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Best Cameron ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 24 minutes, Carl Grieve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balgos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carl Grieve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 28 played minutes Maribyrnong FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Keayes. If Larkin Connell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Best Cameron in the 37th minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Kirby Loch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Maribyrnong FC got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Keayes. Maribyrnong FC's Kirby Loch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Best Cameron in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Best Cameron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balgos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 46 played minutes Balgos got a freekick which was hit by Howie Kile. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

64 minutes into the game, Berny Holdsworth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maribyrnong FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Balgos the free kick. 66 minutes into the match, Maribyrnong FC's goal looked a bit too open when Best Cameron came free, but Kirby Loch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Best Cameron took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Kirby Loch to make any attempt to save it. Maribyrnong FC's Kirby Loch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Best Cameron in the 72nd minute of play. Kirby Loch was a little too slow when Larkin Connell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 80thth minute of the game Larkin Connell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maribyrnong FC's Kirby Loch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kirby Loch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Best Cameron in the 83rd minute of play. Carleton Sinden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Maribyrnong FC's goal looked a bit too open when Best Cameron came free, but Kirby Loch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Best Cameron in the 89th minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Kirby Loch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Best Cameron's late challenge caught a Maribyrnong FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Best Cameron helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Best Cameron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Maribyrnong FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Balgos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
