Murdock Reisz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Boroondara Milan from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Rutgers Utd's zone, Carlisle Fenwick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murdock Reisz came out of the goal and Carlisle Fenwick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Carlisle Fenwick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Murdock Reisz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute Al Allen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyon Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute Paco Everett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murdock Reisz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlisle Fenwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murdock Reisz having to interfere. Murdock Reisz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlisle Fenwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rutgers Utd's Bradford Breasley got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 35 minutes of play, Boroondara Milan's Arty Shearn made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Murdock Reisz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arty Shearn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murdock Reisz having to interfere. Murdock Reisz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arty Shearn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's Paco Everett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murdock Reisz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Murdock Reisz came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Boroondara Milan's Carlisle Fenwick. But to his dismay, Carlisle Fenwick quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlisle Fenwick was the one to do the kick off. Paco Everett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murdock Reisz having to interfere. Andres Stevens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 54 minutes, Brook Munster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rutgers Utd and the Boroondara Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brook Munster kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Levi Pereira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 57th minute Andres Stevens suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. When Mack Bielski fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rutgers Utd's protests and gave Mack Bielski a yellow card for diving instead. Boroondara Milan's Rusty Reynolds was substituted for Andres Stevens. Mack Bielski hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 63 minutes of play, Boroondara Milan's Paco Everett made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlisle Fenwick made a great header on Boroondara Milan's corner, it was just that Rutgers Utd's Murdock Reisz managed to reach the ball for a save. When Boroondara Milan's Carlisle Fenwick in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rutgers Utd's goalie prevented a goal. Carlisle Fenwick took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Murdock Reisz. Murdock Reisz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. When the final whistle sounded Boroondara Milan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rutgers Utd.
