In the 6th match minute, Canobolas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Canobolas getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Norm Nelson hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, Biddle Beer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Canobolas's Adolfo Mcvey didn't even have to move. With his leg Adolfo Mcvey managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Thoona's Herman Wall fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Burns Pegrum struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Adolfo Mcvey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thoona. 19 minutes into the match, Canobolas's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Wall came free, but Adolfo Mcvey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Benedito de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adolfo Mcvey made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Herman Wall sent off a good shot on target. Christopher Oreilly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petre Dimofte having to interfere. The supporters of Canobolas booed when Thoona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Munday didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 36 played minutes Canobolas got a freekick which was hit by Norm Nelson. 36 minutes into the match, Thoona's Biddle Beer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Mcvey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Herman Walls short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Adolfo Mcvey to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Herman Wall put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Adolfo Mcvey. With a little luck, Canobolas's Adolfo Mcvey got control of the ball when Burns Pegrum tried to sneak it across the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Canobolas's goal looked a bit too open when Burns Pegrum came free, but Adolfo Mcvey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ignacio Manuel in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petre Dimofte saved Thoona from getting behind. When Canobolas's Ignacio Manuel in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thoona's goalie prevented a goal. Biddle Beer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Mcvey having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ignacio Manuel made a kick off. Herman Wall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Burns Pegrum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimmy Johnsson during the 66th minute. Adolfo Mcvey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herman Wall's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Ignacio Manuel's late challenge caught a Thoona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignacio Manuel helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Canobolas got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Manuel. Adolfo Mcvey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Callaghan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Burns Pegrum might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolfo Mcvey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Burns Pegrum ran back to his position shaking his head. Jimmy Johnsson got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ignacio Manuel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Petre Dimofte. Thoona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Herman Wall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thoona's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
