When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Jervis Tresise took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Brian Brennand to make any attempt to save it. Brian Brennand made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Jervis Tresise sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Alessandro Sacchi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stratton FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Sacchi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Brennand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bradshaw Waller during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Stratton FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Bradshaw Waller hit a great ball. A collision led to Adelaide getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Belton Trenoweth hit a great ball. The supporters of Adelaide booed when Stratton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradshaw Waller didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes, Adelaide's Darren Paynter shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lawrance See came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Adelaide reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Jervis Tresise kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Brian Brennand. That made the score 3-1 in the 30 minute of play. Darren Paynter kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Adelaide's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alessandro Sacchi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Adelaide's Brian Brennand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jervis Tresise in the 39th minute of play. Brian Brennand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Sacchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Sacchi came free, but Brian Brennand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alessandro Sacchi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Brian Brennand firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alessandro Sacchi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Brian Brennand made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Stratton FC's Alessandro Sacchi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brian Brennand. That made the score 4-1 after 47 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alessandro Sacchi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Adelaide's goalkeeper Brian Brennand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Belton Trenoweth lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 55th match minute, Adelaide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belton Trenoweth to maneuver through the defense. Brynn Andrews might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Brennand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brynn Andrews ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Adelaide's Darren Paynter got a free kick in the 57th minute. Matthew Grieve's late challenge caught a Adelaide's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Grieve helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th match minute, Stratton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Grieve to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the game, Stratton FC's Jervis Tresise nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brian Brennand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 68th minute Jervis Tresise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Brennand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Stratton FC booed when Adelaide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carleton Atkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Brynn Andrews shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brian Brennand showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Brian Brennand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jervis Tresise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Barnett Collins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Adelaide getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Carleton Atkin hit a great ball. Stratton FC made a substitution. Ivan Warhurst replaced Jervis Tresise. Stratton FC made a substitution. Jared Wivell replaced Matthew Grieve. After a rather tough play, Adelaide's Carleton Atkin got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Ivan Warhurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes of play, Stratton FC's Ivan Warhurst made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brian Brennand was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adelaide's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Stratton FC had won, even though Adelaide had held more of the ball.
