Spectators: 9268 (Terracing: 6953, Seating: 2131, VIP seats: 184) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Silvério Pinhal took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 played minutes Ayla FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Pinhal. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Angelo Callaghan sped through Ayla FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nilson Fraser. After a rather tough play, Ayla FC's Eddie Pegrum got a free kick in the 9th minute. Biddle Beer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Thoona getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Biddle Beer hit a great ball. Biddle Beer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute Brayden Duggan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petre Dimofte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilson Fraser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Biddle Beer in the 19th minute. In the 29th minute, Silvério Pinhal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petre Dimofte was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Silvério Pinhal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petre Dimofte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvério Pinhal's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Ayla FC's Nilson Fraser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Ayla FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ayla FC booed when Thoona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chuck Pack didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelo Callaghan in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilson Fraser saved Ayla FC from getting behind. If Silvério Pinhal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Silvério Pinhal put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Petre Dimofte.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo Callaghan to make the kick off. Clay Dollamore kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Petre Dimofte made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Silvério Pinhal sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th minute of the match Ayla FC got a corner. Thoona's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Larry Knevett ran over to the corner to take the kick. Darryl Munday lost his temper 61 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thoona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! Thoona:s Petre Dimofte showed great skill when he stopped Larry Knevett:s penalty. Petre Dimofte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Odon in the 77th minute of the match. Rob Porteus who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Petre Dimofte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rob Porteus's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Petre Dimofte skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The corner ended in Ivan Odon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Thoona's Petre Dimofte did a great save. Jordon Barclay kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Rob Porteus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ayla FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rob Porteus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petre Dimofte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ivan Odon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rob Porteus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Petre Dimofte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ayla FC's Larry Knevett got a free kick in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ayla FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Thoona.
