Milan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southern Thrashers the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nurkan Salah in the 19th minute of play forced Milan's goalkeeper Adolph Mcinnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolph Mcinnes came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Southern Thrashers's Cai Inestrosa. But to his dismay, Cai Inestrosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 44 minutes of play, Southern Thrashers's Angelino Ospin made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adolph Mcinnes was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Angelino Ospin came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Southern Thrashers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Ospin couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorimer Rear stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cai Inestrosa in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolph Mcinnes saved Milan from getting behind. Nurkan Salah struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Adolph Mcinnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southern Thrashers. Adolph Mcinnes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cai Inestrosa in the 60th minute of the match. Adolph Mcinnes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelino Ospin's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Dacosta Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nils-Erik Askelöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 played minutes Milan got a freekick which was hit by Danny Soekirno. Cai Inestrosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Adolph Mcinnes made a huge save. 72 minutes into the game, Lorimer Rear cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Nils-Erik Askelöf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Milan getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Pierre Lowes hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Adolph Mcinnes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Adolph Mcinnes came out and tried to block the shot, but Jackson Millgate slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 88th minute. When the final whistle sounded Southern Thrashers left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Milan.
