If Denny Commons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, Pasha Datsiuk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lei Wei Lin. Abbotsford FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pasha Datsiuk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pasha Datsiuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lei Wei Lin came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Frenchville Sports Club's Pasha Datsiuk. But to his dismay, Pasha Datsiuk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 18th match minute, Frenchville Sports Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pasha Datsiuk to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Frenchville Sports Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Abbotsford FC:s goal. Denny Commons did an outstanding performance 25 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-2 to the right of an irritated Edvaldo Gaspar in the goal. Lei Wei Lin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pasha Datsiuk in the 28th minute of the match. With a little luck, Frenchville Sports Club's Edvaldo Gaspar got control of the ball when Abbas Ağayarov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edvaldo Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yakut Vecihi, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The corner led Frenchville Sports Club's Leon Mleczewski to fire away a dangerous shot which Lei Wei Lin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Frenchville Sports Club's Edvaldo Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Frenchville Sports Club from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute, Pasha Datsiuk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Yakut Vecihi made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Abbas Ağayarov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lei Wei Lin came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Frenchville Sports Club's Pasha Datsiuk. But to his dismay, Pasha Datsiuk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 57th minute, Pierre Haeberle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edvaldo Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Su Xing Jie in the 61st minute of play. Abbotsford FC's Lei Wei Lin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pasha Datsiuk in the 64th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Frenchville Sports Club got a freekick which was hit by Leon Mleczewski. Frenchville Sports Club's Berke Rush was substituted for Pasha Datsiuk. In the 67th match minute, Frenchville Sports Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Mleczewski to maneuver through the defense. Denny Commons struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Edvaldo Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abbotsford FC. Edvaldo Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yakut Vecihi, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Berke Rush had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lei Wei Lin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Caniggia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Pierre Haeberle in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Frenchville Sports Club's Burt Gruer. 85 minutes into the game, Abbotsford FC's Abbas Ağayarov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edvaldo Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Berke Rushs short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Lei Wei Lin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Berke Rush who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Lei Wei Lin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Abbotsford FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
