Brookes Beale was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bickford Digiuseppe. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brookes Beale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Bill Crane made a precise shot to the right of Bern Castner. Hotham FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Dumaresq FC's Brookes Beale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dacosta Delahide in the 19th minute of play. After 20 minutes Dumaresq FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bickford Digiuseppe who took care of the corner kick. 21 minutes into the match, Dumaresq FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dacosta Delahide came free, but Brookes Beale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bern Castner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Crane, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Bern Castner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Crane in the 28th minute of the match. When Dumaresq FC's Payton Thomas in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hotham FC's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caine Miels during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dumaresq FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bill Crane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Hotham FC defense, Bill Crane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bern Castner. The Hotham FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bern Castner should have stopped the shot. Nilson Osbiston's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Brookes Beale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Bill Crane received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bern Castner came out and tried to block the shot, but Bill Crane slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 54th minute. The supporters of Hotham FC booed when Dumaresq FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norm Riley didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Dumaresq FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bickford Digiuseppe came free, but Brookes Beale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 played minutes Hotham FC got a freekick which was hit by Bjorn Monson. Brookes Beale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Osbiston in the 63rd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Dumaresq FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hotham FC:s goal. Dumaresq FC:s Brookes Beale showed great skill when he stopped Bickford Digiuseppe:s penalty. In the 68th match minute, Dumaresq FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny King to maneuver through the defense. Bill Crane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bern Castner having to interfere. The supporters of Dumaresq FC booed when Hotham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Osbiston didn't get a good kick on the ball. Payton Thomas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Bern Castner when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dacosta Delahide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Brookes Beale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hotham FC's Bern Castner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Hotham FC from getting a goal against them. If Bill Crane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Dumaresq FC got a freekick which was hit by Russ Alves. In the 94th minute, Benny King hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brookes Beale came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Hotham FC's Dacosta Delahide. But to his dismay, Dacosta Delahide quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The Hotham FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dumaresq FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Dumaresq FC.
