Alistair McRory came free with the goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olly Butt could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Coultard in the 5th minute of play forced Berwick City's goalkeeper Olly Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olly Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alistair McRory in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Berwick City's Patrick Harris got a free kick in the 7th minute. Alan Falconer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Walker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olly Butt made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Ryan Coultard sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ardrossan HT getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jamie Barlow hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the game, Berwick City's Liam Walker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alan Falconer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 22nd match minute, Ardrossan HT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamie Barlow to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, Seth Silvester was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berwick City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ardrossan HT the free kick. In the 24th match minute, Berwick City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seth Silvester to maneuver through the defense. Berwick City's Olly Butt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Findlay in the 25th minute of play. Olly Butt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alistair McRory in the 28th minute. Alan Falconer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam Walker in the 32nd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isaac Winship to strike the kick off in the second half. Ryan Coultard struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. With a little luck, Ardrossan HT's Alan Falconer got control of the ball when Liam Walker tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute of the match, Isaac Winship got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alan Falconer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Isaac Winship fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Falconer having to interfere. Alan Falconer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Harrison, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Ardrossan HT's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
