After 26 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Van Cauwenbergh. Indonesia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wolf De Hond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Octave Soetemans hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zulkarnaen Mandaga might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Campens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zulkarnaen Mandaga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Manuel Campens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Belgium's Wolf De Hond sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Haji Sarap narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Indonesia's goalkeeper Haji Sarap had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wolf De Hond. Haji Sarap made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Wolf De Hond sent off a good shot on target. Wolf De Hond did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Haji Sarap 73 minutes into the match.
