Luis Galarza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Werner Castillo in the 37th minute of play. Matthew Benjamin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Rodrigues in the 43rd minute of the match. Matthew Benjamin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute, USA's Donald Caldwell seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Donald Caldwell the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of USA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Donald Caldwell had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in USA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Bolivia made a substitution. Guerau Abeitia replaced Matías Almeida. Luis Galarza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Pacheco in the 63rd minute of play. With his leg Matthew Benjamin managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Bolivia's Alexandre Rodrigues fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Werner Castillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Galarza having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Alexandre Rodrigues took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Matthew Benjamin to make any attempt to save it. USA made a substitution. The corner ended in William Kerns almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bolivia's Luis Galarza did a great save. In the 85thth minute of the game Tony Pacheco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Luis Galarza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ignatius Abancens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Matthew Benjamin made a huge save. USA's Matthew Benjamin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Endura Abechuco in the 88th minute of play. With a little luck, USA's Matthew Benjamin got control of the ball when Ignatius Abancens tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Miki Moco hit a great ball. A hard shot by Alejandro Nesta from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Matthew Benjamin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the final whistle sounded Bolivia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than USA.
