Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when William Rigg kicked off to start the match. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, William Rigg put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ter Stegen. 7 minutes into the match, William Rigg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ter Stegen. Ireland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Rigg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 10 minutes into the match, England's William Rigg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ter Stegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Darick Gillmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ter Stegen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronnie Odell went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute, Lúcio da Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ireland's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Rigg in the 21st minute of play. William Rigg struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Ter Stegen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for England. William Rigg scored 0-4 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ter Stegen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the game, William Rigg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ter Stegen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Ireland defense, William Rigg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ter Stegen. The Ireland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ter Stegen should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when William Rigg came free, but Ter Stegen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, William Rigg made a precise shot to the right of Ter Stegen. Ireland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. 43 minutes into the match, England's William Rigg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ter Stegen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ireland's Ter Stegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Rigg in the 44th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darick Gillmour got free with Frank Frankfurter in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Darick Gillmour to make the kick off. If William Rigg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the game, England's Russ Howden nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ter Stegen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. A sloppy throw-in by Marty Driver in the 60th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ireland's Arnold McDecland. Marty Driver hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. William Rigg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ter Stegen having to make a save. William Rigg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Ter Stegen made a huge save. After 66 played minutes Ireland got a freekick which was hit by Mack Willson. England's Frank McLintock was substituted for William Rigg. England's Ray Atkins was substituted for Ronnie Odell. Ireland's Rudy Lukas was substituted for Lúcio da Silva. England's Rio Hendley was substituted for Russ Howden. After a rather tough play, Ireland's Mack Willson got a free kick in the 68th minute. Rudy Lukas made in the 72nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rudy Lukas. The throw-in from Rudy Lukas in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by England's Marty Driver. In the 74th minute, Frank McLintock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ter Stegen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. After a rather tough play, Ireland's Rudy Lukas got a free kick in the 78th minute. Frank McLintock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Stegen having to interfere. In the 88th minute Frank McLintock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ter Stegen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Torrey Molloy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frank Frankfurter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torrey Molloy, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Frank McLintock had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ter Stegen. Ireland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frank McLintock was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. England's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
