In the 18th minute, Shane Katz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cockermouth United's Phil Dooley didn't even have to move. With a left leg Phil Dooley saved Cockermouth United from getting behind. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Vince Cleveland sped through Cockermouth United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Phil Dooley. 37 minutes into the match, Cockermouth United's Garth Sprague sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hector Sams narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Garth Sprague to strike the kick off in the second half. Owen Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 52 minutes into the game, Kelly Hayden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hector Sams prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hector Sams showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Woodrow Tucker in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Malibu Soccer Beach's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Sprague came free, but Hector Sams reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phil Dooley made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Jerold Morris sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Malibu Soccer Beach getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Shane Katz hit a great ball. Cockermouth United's Vicente Tate got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Reuben Thorne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes Cockermouth United got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Meza. Owen Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Phil Dooley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garth Sprague recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phil Dooley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vince Cleveland in the 88th minute of the match. Hector Sams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Tate, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
