Cristian Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Messias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of NEWCASTLE booed when Scragbadun FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Messias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Scragbadun FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 35th match minute, Scragbadun FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Custódio to maneuver through the defense. In the 39thth minute of the game Augusto Custódio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NEWCASTLE's Walmyr da Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Custódio to make the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Augusto Custódio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Walmyr da Silva was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Messias showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 87 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in NEWCASTLE's zone, Clóvis da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmyr da Silva came out of the goal and Clóvis da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 96th minute of the match Cristian Messias completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristian Messias a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Scragbadun FC played a much better game than NEWCASTLE and deserved their victory. The NEWCASTLE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
