In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Indonesia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! The excitement rose when U21 Hungary's Rajmund Lázár after 20 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for U21 Indonesia's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibor Berkes in the 24th minute of play forced U21 Indonesia's goalkeeper Manuel Antono to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th match minute, U21 Indonesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adit Alatas to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, U21 Hungary's Rajmund Lázár tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Manuel Antono came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Hungary's György Hubina. But to his dismay, György Hubina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, U21 Indonesia's Jojon Sopandi got a free kick in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Indonesia's zone, Róbert Benkó stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Antono came out of the goal and Róbert Benkó tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gergely Bodonyi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Makbul Wenas kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Rajmund Lázár shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manuel Antono showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tibor Szél showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gery Burhanuddin, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gery Burhanuddin to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Icang Wanandi during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of U21 Hungary booed when U21 Indonesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Icang Wanandi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Róbert Benkó charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Róbert Benkó the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
