An unexpectedly hard shot by Bulek Idris in the 16th minute of play forced Turkey's goalkeeper Saltuk Erva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azhar Sulaiman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, Malaysia's Azhar Sulaiman got control of the ball when Turgut Soyuer tried to sneak it across the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bulek Idris to strike the kick off in the second half. Turkey's Baltazar Delioğlu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mulyana Bangun in the 51 minute of the game. Azhar Sulaiman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Semail Ulusoy in the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Turkey's Recep Çetin got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Turkey's goalkeeper Saltuk Erva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Malaysia made a substitution. Darius Mulia replaced Hardy Sinambela. The Turkey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Turkey were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
