The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Judas Verón replaced Benedicto Naelio. 95 minutes into the game, Argentina's Benito Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilmar de Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The Argentina support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
