After 9 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Justino Canseco. Iustin Bâru was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Canseco in the 13th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Aron Chindriș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chayo Garantos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isac Zub, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Isăilă's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Chayo Garantos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Manuel Isăilă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Chayo Garantos made a huge save. Chayo Garantos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristide Ciuvică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Romania's Manuel Isăilă dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Aron Chindriș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justino Canseco in the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Octav Blănaru threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's Isaac Viveros quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 43rd minute Manuel Isăilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chayo Garantos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enzo Martínez to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iustin Bâru to make the kick off. Chayo Garantos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Romania's Pavel Alexandru in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Romania were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ştefan Istrăteanu took the corner. The corner led Romania's Ştefan Istrăteanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Chayo Garantos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Romania had won after a very even match.
