Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Benedicto Naelio came free, but Dolfo Burgo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benedicto Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dolfo Burgo made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Benedicto Naelio sent off a good shot on target. Dolfo Burgo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Naelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benedicto Naelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolfo Burgo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Naelio in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dolfo Burgo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Benedicto Naelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dolfo Burgo. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dolfo Burgo should have stopped the shot. Albano Jaunzuria hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Paúl Laime. Peru's Dolfo Burgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 46th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benedicto Naelio made a kick off. In the 69th minute Benedicto Naelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dolfo Burgo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
