Luis Galarza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luis Galarza was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Belgium's Manuel Campens got control of the ball when Sandro Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sandro Coelho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Manuel Campens skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 44th minute Ignatius Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Galarza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Goolen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Bolivia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgium were winning 1-5.

Bolivia's Luis Mendez was substituted for Guerau Abeitia. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wolf De Hond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Wolf De Hond who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Luis Galarza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Campens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jair Reinoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Belgium's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
