When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, 朱傲义 took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dolfo Burgo to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 45th minute of play forced China's goalkeeper 魏亮宇 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 朱傲义 made a kick off. Peru's Dolfo Burgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 莫鹰景 in the 51st minute of play. China's attentive Feng Lei Tian managed to snatch the ball when Herensuge Colomes made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Dolfo Burgo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 朱傲义, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paúl Laime's late challenge caught a China's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Peru booed when China was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fan Chang Chen didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Enrique Cassaretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for China.
