The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of China booed when Russia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Moskvin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Baibakov in the 13th minute of play forced China's goalkeeper 魏亮宇 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Russia's goal looked a bit too open when 朱傲义 came free, but Aleksandr Ivannikov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aleksandr Ivannikov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 朱傲义, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute Roman Baibakov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 魏亮宇 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Roman Baibakov notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of China's 魏亮宇. 魏亮宇 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Russia's Georgiy Voroshilov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 魏亮宇 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liu Kun Zhen in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aleksandr Ivannikov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. China made a substitution. 王川轩 replaced Liu Kun Zhen. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Russia's goalie and right to Xu Yong Feng. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Russia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 28 minutes into the match, 朱傲义 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aleksandr Ivannikov. Russia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 朱傲义 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Roman Baibakov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. 魏亮宇 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, 朱傲义 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Aleksandr Ivannikov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, 朱傲义 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The China fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. With a little luck, China's 魏亮宇 got control of the ball when Georgiy Voroshilov tried to sneak it across the goal line. When 王川轩 came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the China fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 王川轩 couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the game, 朱傲义 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Aleksandr Ivannikov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roman Baibakov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Aleksandr Ivannikov successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 57th minute of the match China got a corner. Russia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 康然岩 ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on China's corner 朱傲义 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aleksandr Ivannikov quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, China's 朱傲义 sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aleksandr Ivannikov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Russia got a freekick which was hit by Georgiy Voroshilov. China's Tang Sha Xu was substituted for 朱傲义. In the 64th minute, Georgiy Voroshilov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 minutes Russia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 康然岩 who took care of the corner kick. 69 minutes into the match, Tang Sha Xu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aleksandr Ivannikov. Russia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tang Sha Xu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. China's 魏亮宇 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Baibakov in the 72nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tang Sha Xu in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aleksandr Ivannikov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rodion Nikitin kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Russia made a substitution. Vadim Andrienko replaced Roman Baibakov. After 90 played minutes Russia got a freekick which was hit by Rodion Nikitin. Tang Sha Xu might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleksandr Ivannikov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tang Sha Xu ran back to his position shaking his head. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. China walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
