Efraim Leizaur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jair Reinoso in the 13th minute of play. Efraim Leizaur made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Ignatius Abancens sent off a good shot on target. If Dantae Lahoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Ignatius Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efraim Leizaur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Galarza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eate Fonoll in the 46th minute of the match. Bolivia made a substitution. Luis Mendez replaced Guerau Abeitia. In the 49th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignatius Abancens to maneuver through the defense.

Jair Reinoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Efraim Leizaur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentine Hernandez in the 82nd minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Luis Galarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Rodrigues hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Paraguay's Guillelme Lomas was substituted for Luis Esteves. Bolivia's Luis Cristaldo was substituted for Sandro Coelho. Luis Galarza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dantae Lahoz in the 86th minute of play. After 86 minutes Bolivia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dantae Lahoz who took care of the corner kick. In the 90th minute, Tonete Abaurre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Efraim Leizaur was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Cristian Alvarenga took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Luis Galarza to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Charles Puyol got a free kick in the 97th minute. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
