Karl Jemella was left in no man's land by his defense there! Karl Jemella took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baal Ares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The U21 Austria players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Romania were winning 2-3.

Baal Ares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Karl Jemella when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Karl Jemella made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gelu Alexandrescu in the 53rd minute. If Baal Ares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The U21 Romania fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when U21 Romania's Viktor Orbán looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see U21 Austria lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
