U21 Dominican Republic's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Bo Cantona scored to the left of an out of position Jenaro Coronel, making the score, 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jenaro Coronel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mislav Oršić. Jenaro Coronel made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Bo Cantona sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute, U21 Croatia's Franjo Fabijanić ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jenaro Coronel. Jenaro Coronel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mislav Oršić in the 26th minute of play forced U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jenaro Coronel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Miguel Ángel Seijas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Dominican Republic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Croatia the free kick. The supporters of U21 Croatia booed when U21 Dominican Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Ángel Seijas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Bo Cantona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jenaro Coronel skillfully saved the ball. Bo Cantona's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jenaro Coronel firmly grabbed it by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Mislav Oršić kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jenaro Coronel. That made the score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. Jenaro Coronel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hrvoje Lukašek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mislav Oršić got free with Jenaro Coronel in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jenaro Coronel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franjo Fabijanić, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 45 minutes, Alejo Veliz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Dominican Republic and the U21 Croatia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes U21 Dominican Republic got a freekick which was hit by Alejo Veliz. Jenaro Coronel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franjo Fabijanić, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

U21 Croatia made a substitution. Bo Ibrahimović replaced Bo Cantona. After having played for 56 minutes, Alejo Veliz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Dominican Republic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejo Veliz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, U21 Croatia's Franjo Fabijanić nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jenaro Coronel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Jenaro Coronel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mislav Oršić in the 62nd minute of play. Jenaro Coronel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Ibrahimović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 minutes of play, U21 Croatia's Mislav Oršić made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jenaro Coronel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jenaro Coronel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mislav Oršić in the 76th minute of play. U21 Dominican Republic's Jenaro Coronel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Ibrahimović in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Dominican Republic's Epifanio Zárate got a free kick in the 80th minute. Mislav Oršić took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jenaro Coronel. Jenaro Coronel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Jenaro Coronel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Ibrahimović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jenaro Coronel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bo Ibrahimović went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Mislav Oršić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Ibrahimović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jenaro Coronel having to interfere.
