U21 Brazil's Norberto Heerdt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Bianchi in the 12th minute of play. After 15 played minutes U21 Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Casemiro Joinvilense. Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Bianchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Norberto Heerdt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guaberto Valiente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Laffitte came free, but Norberto Heerdt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Junes made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Xandão Crouch sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute Guaberto Valiente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Heerdt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Bianchi in the 37th minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Norberto Heerdt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Guaberto Valiente sped through U21 Brazil's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Norberto Heerdt. In the 70th minute Eusebio Cordarius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Heerdt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Luís Zanette in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastián Junes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of U21 Argentina booed when U21 Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honorato Maties made in the 87th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Virgilio Lawrence. Gui Joinvilense's late challenge caught a U21 Argentina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gui Joinvilense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Gui Joinvilense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to U21 Brazil getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Mário Lendaa hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Argentina walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
