Fede Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of U21 Argentina booed when U21 Poland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Zawacki didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, U21 Argentina's Peter-Michael Schmeichel threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Guaberto Valiente, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iwan Karanowski in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fede Gomes saved U21 Argentina from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Virgilio Lawrence's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter-Michael Schmeichel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Virgilio Lawrence scored 4-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter-Michael Schmeichel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Poland's Kazimierz Madej was substituted for Iwan Karanowski. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
