The supporters of Colombia booed when Belarus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateush Salanenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Belarus's goalkeeper Stepan Firago had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Hoz. Stepan Firago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Hoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stepan Firago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donio Velunza, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Argi Quintanadueñas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Firago having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Hoz in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stepan Firago prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stepan Firago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donio Velunza in the 33rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ricardo Hoz could shoot a difficult shot in the 34th minute, which Stepan Firago however easily saved by the left post. In the 35th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Bartolo Almonacid went to the cornerflag to take it. If Ricardo Hoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ioritz Hernainz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vadim Litvin in the 39th minute of play. Belarus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oleg Rukevich in the 40th minute. The corner ended in Oleg Rukevich almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Ioritz Hernainz did a great save. Stepan Firago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Hoz in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Ricardo Hoz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Ricardo Hoz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belarus's Stepan Firago was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Aleksandr Bannikov took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Ioritz Hernainz to make any attempt to save it. In the 86th minute Ricardo Hoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stepan Firago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stepan Firago didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardo Hoz went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Belarus's Stepan Firago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Hoz in the 93rd minute of play. Colombia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Belarus for a fine match.
