Seating: 2375, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jerzy Niedbalski started the match with the kick off. The supporters of U21 Bulgaria booed when U21 Poland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ola Stachura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gruyo Popiliev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerzy Niedbalski in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Jerzy Niedbalski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Andrzej Dobrowski made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Francesc Totti immediately put the ball in play. In the 26th minute, U21 Bulgaria's Alexey Keresteliev seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alexey Keresteliev the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Bulgaria protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexey Keresteliev had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 25th minute, one of U21 Bulgaria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Bulgaria. In the 28th minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Wincent Awizo went to the cornerflag to take it. At last the ball reached Adam Nigbor at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of U21 Bulgaria. 0-2. Adam Nigbor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gruyo Popiliev having to interfere. Stanislav Muhov might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Przemyslaw Szczęsny. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stanislav Muhov ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to U21 Bulgaria getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Tihomir Donevski hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Jerzy Niedbalski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gruyo Popiliev narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blagovest Deykov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vladislav Trúpchev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Przemyslaw Szczęsny having to interfere. Jerzy Niedbalski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Gruyo Popiliev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jerzy Niedbalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gruyo Popiliev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerzy Niedbalski in the 59th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Bulgaria's zone, Jerzy Niedbalski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gruyo Popiliev came out of the goal and Jerzy Niedbalski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Poland's Ksawery Bilicki was substituted for Jerzy Niedbalski. U21 Poland made a substitution. Gustaw Rydzyk replaced Francesc Totti. In the 67th minute of the match, Ksawery Bilicki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gruyo Popiliev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gruyo Popiliev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ksawery Bilicki in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, U21 Bulgaria's goal looked a bit too open when Ksawery Bilicki came free, but Gruyo Popiliev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ksawery Bilicki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gruyo Popiliev was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaw Rydzyk got free with Gruyo Popiliev in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 76 minutes U21 Bulgaria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wincent Awizo who took care of the corner kick. Ksawery Bilicki did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Gruyo Popiliev 76 minutes into the match. Gruyo Popiliev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ksawery Bilicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. U21 Bulgaria's Gruyo Popiliev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ksawery Bilicki in the 83rd minute of play. Tihomir Donevski made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Martin Petrov however managed to control. The crowd rose to their feet as Ksawery Bilicki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gruyo Popiliev. That made the score 0-4 in the 89 minute of play. Tihomir Donevski kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Ksawery Bilicki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gruyo Popiliev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ksawery Bilicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
