Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Russia's Anton Kudrinskiy started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Russia's goalkeeper Leonid Plaksin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. But to his dismay, Nikolay Zanin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Yaroslav Vishnyakov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Tomaszewski came free, but Leonid Plaksin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Poland's Przemyslaw Szczęsny proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Poland from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Jerzy Niedbalski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonid Plaksin was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Leonid Plaksin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Nigbor, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With his leg Leonid Plaksin managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when U21 Poland's Adam Nigbor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Petr Minkov hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. U21 Russia's Leonid Plaksin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Nigbor in the 70th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Nigbor in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonid Plaksin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Adam Nigbor put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Leonid Plaksin. Leonid Plaksin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Nigbor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the U21 Russia defense, Adam Nigbor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonid Plaksin. The U21 Russia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonid Plaksin should have stopped the shot. Leonid Plaksin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francesc Totti in the 80th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Adam Nigbor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonid Plaksin, 1-6. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Russia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabian Tomaszewski was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Poland's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Wali Brama almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Russia's Leonid Plaksin did a great save. Leonid Plaksin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Nigbor in the 91st minute. The U21 Russia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Poland's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Poland.
