Bruno Marceau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gäray Abduhämov having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Marceau in the 16th minute of play forced Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Gäray Abduhämov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azerbaijan's Gäray Abduhämov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Marceau in the 18th minute of play. France's Mike Starck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Häsrät Azamämmädov in the 20th minute of play. Mike Starck came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Azerbaijan's Häsrät Azamämmädov. But to his dismay, Häsrät Azamämmädov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Mike Starck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Häsrät Azamämmädov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gäray Abduhämov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Marceau in the 24th minute of the match. The Azerbaijan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 37th minute Diego Farges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gäray Abduhämov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Azerbaijan's Xaläddin Näbiyev got a free kick in the 40th minute. Diego Farges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gäray Abduhämov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Mikayıl Atäşi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Azerbaijan and the France players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Azerbaijan getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mikayıl Atäşi hit a great ball. France's Hugues Guillois was substituted for Cheikh Ober. France's Bruno Marceau got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Gäray Abduhämov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Marceau's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. France's Diego Farges was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 65 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Cahan Orxanov came free, but Mike Starck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qabil Baliyev hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. France made a substitution. Joaquim Heuze replaced Diego Farges. After a rather tough play, Azerbaijan's Qabil Baliyev got a free kick in the 70th minute. Azerbaijan's Gäray Abduhämov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Azerbaijan from getting a goal against them. Azerbaijan's Gäray Abduhämov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Collomb in the 75th minute of play. Gäray Abduhämov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franklin Collomb in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Azerbaijan's Qabil Baliyev got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Franklin Collomb, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 91 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gäray Abduhämov was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Mike Starck came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Azerbaijan's Cahan Orxanov. But to his dismay, Cahan Orxanov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 98 minutes into the game, France's Franklin Collomb nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gäray Abduhämov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Azerbaijan were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of France for a fine match.
