Slovakia's Móric Hanigovský played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zarko Salimahidžić in the 22nd minute of play. Semir Jakubović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Štefan Laco in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Vezir Velidović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Štefan Laco ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Joksim Antončić came free, but Móric Hanigovský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Móric Hanigovský made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zarko Salimahidžić in the 41st minute of play. Aurel Pataj hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Móric Hanigovský had in the 49thth minute some difficulties stopping Zarko Salimahidžić's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eldar Zukić to make the kick off. Semir Jakubović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Jendrišek in the 54th minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Erik Jendrišek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Semir Jakubović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nedo Helvida made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Soni Petrović. Semir Jakubović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Štefan Laco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Štefan Laco in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Semir Jakubović saved Bosnia And Hercegovina from getting behind. Soni Petrović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Móric Hanigovský read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Bosnia And Hercegovina's Semir Jakubović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Jendrišek in the 73rd minute of play. Erik Jendrišek took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Semir Jakubović. Semir Jakubović dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Slovakia made a substitution. Mojmír Plvan replaced Miloš Glonek. If Ján Dupal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Semir Jakubović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Jendrišek in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Ján Dupal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Semir Jakubović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Martin Curković's late challenge caught a Slovakia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Curković helped the player get up and apologised. Bosnia And Hercegovina:s Semir Jakubović showed great skill when he stopped Matej Lapaj:s penalty.
