But to his dismay, Tatomir Radišić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Kirk Cummings showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevica Tomanić, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, U21 Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Pointon came free, but Vladislav Orahovac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dylon Butler Yeats lost his temper 14 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 13th minute, one of U21 Northern Ireland:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Northern Ireland. In the 20th minute, Dom Routledge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dragan Džajić got free with Kirk Cummings in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kirk Cummings showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevica Tomanić in the 24th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, U21 Northern Ireland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Carpenter to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute of the match U21 Northern Ireland got a corner. U21 Serbia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marc Patrick ran over to the corner to take the kick. U21 Northern Ireland's Marc Patrick was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vladislav Orahovac in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. U21 Northern Ireland's Kirk Cummings played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Željko Trišović in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Patrick in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Serbia's goalkeeper Vladislav Orahovac to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Serbia's zone, Karl Pointon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladislav Orahovac came out of the goal and Karl Pointon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Borisav Ćuzović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stevica Tomanić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to U21 Northern Ireland getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Steve Carpenter hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Tatomir Radišić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to U21 Northern Ireland getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. After a rather tough play, U21 Northern Ireland's Steve Carpenter got a free kick in the 80th minute. U21 Serbia's Darko Pančev was substituted for Dragan Džajić. After 82 minutes of play, U21 Serbia's Stevica Tomanić made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kirk Cummings was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes into the match, Melentije Borić notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of U21 Northern Ireland's Kirk Cummings. Kirk Cummings was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vladislav Orahovac made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Patrick in the 90th minute of play. Vladimir Arsenović hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Stevica Tomanić had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kirk Cummings. U21 Northern Ireland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stevica Tomanić was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. U21 Serbia's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
