Ramli Gibran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominix Briseño, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Pol Laime made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marsilam Sangaji in the 18th minute of play. When Pangeran Cinta came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Indonesia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pangeran Cinta couldn't finish the play. In the 27thth minute of the game Marsilam Sangaji who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Pol Laime was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Peru's Idacio Rubina made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramli Gibran was left in no man's land by his defense there! With an all-out effort, Indonesia's Pol Laime threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marsilam Sangaji, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pangeran Cinta got free with Pol Laime in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the game, Marsilam Sangaji recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pol Laime. Marsilam Sangaji showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Pol Laime dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Habib during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peru made a substitution. Tom Misaki replaced Amaya Maira. Peru made a substitution. Esteban Aranda replaced Dominix Briseño. After a rather tough play, Indonesia's Ariel Habib got a free kick in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Goite in the 68th minute of play forced Indonesia's goalkeeper Ramli Gibran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Ricardo Goite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramli Gibran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute Tom Misaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramli Gibran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Pol Laime played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marsilam Sangaji in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Indonesia's Ramli Gibran got control of the ball when Ricardo Goite tried to sneak it across the goal line. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Indonesia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valdo Alberca was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Indonesia's goalie and right to Ricardo Goite. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Indonesia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Marsilam Sangaji's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pol Laime read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Marsilam Sangaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pol Laime saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
