U21 Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cornel Drâmba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Tudoran came free, but Oliverio Demartis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Ghiondea's late challenge caught a U21 Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Ghiondea helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to U21 Romania getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ivan Ghiondea hit a great ball. Nechifor Zeciu came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Chile's Vinicio Arroyo. But to his dismay, Vinicio Arroyo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, U21 Romania's Andrew Robertson got a free kick in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Arroyo in the 31st minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Nechifor Zeciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliverio Demartis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Tudoran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, U21 Chile's Oliverio Demartis got control of the ball when Cornel Drâmba tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Arroyo in the 36th minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Nechifor Zeciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Alin Armeanca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nechifor Zeciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Arroyo in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Romania's Andrew Robertson got a free kick in the 40th minute. Nechifor Zeciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Arroyo in the 41st minute of the match. After 45 played minutes U21 Romania got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Ghiondea.

In the 75th match minute, U21 Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prosper Harnikov to maneuver through the defense. Nastasio Ferreiro hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. U21 Romania walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
