After taking down the ball on Finland's corner Kustavi Tuominen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gerd Beiro quite easily take care of the ball. A beautiful save bye Liechtenstein's goalie prevented a goal. If Petri Kinnaslampi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. A wasted opportunity for Finland. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The Finland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0.
