Dennis Köllner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horacio Abaurre in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of Austria booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esiquio Abancens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Austria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horacio Abaurre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Dennis Köllner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horacio Abaurre in the 45th minute of play. Vasco Abadia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Aigner in the 46th minute of the match. After 46 minutes of play, Austria's Gordon Aigner made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vasco Abadia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gordon Aigner was the one to do the kick off.
